| Synopsis:
The Oakland Invaders, original charter
member of the league. Raiders headed south for Los Angeles, creating a
lot of hungry fans in Oakland. The Invaders had strong fan base and good
media coverage. Pacific Division Champions, finished 9-9, in weak division.
Invaders were quickly eliminated in the Semifinals to eventual USFL Champions,
Michigan Panthers, 37-21, in front of huge crowd at the Silverdome. In 1984 Season, more teams and
below average record for Bay Area squad. The Invaders finished 7-11
and missed the playoffs. The bright side for the Invaders, the team
turned around a 0-9 start and went 7-2, the rest of the way. |
